Colombia and Dreams Karibana

I always wanted to go to Colombia to complete my South American tour.

My hubby was always discouraging me because of drug cartels, kidnapping and terrorism.

My hubby and I, just proved that Colombia is safe. In fact, the USA is more dangerous.

Our private guide took us to the most dangerous part of Bogota and he mentioned that the safest was in the “brothel area”.

The La Candelaria was a tourist trap , just like in big cities.

My objective was also to visit Dreams Karibana golf and resort, which is part of Unlimited Vacation Club of which we are members.

The first hotel Grand Hyatt, was the most luxurious in Bogota as per the people we have met.

The Grand Hyatt Architecture reminds me of Hyatt in Tokyo, Japan.

Dreams Karibana Golf and Spa resort is another story. There are kids and quite not the “gourmet” side we are accustomed to, although, we were upgraded to a master suite with a wrap-around veranda. It was HUGE, with 2 full bathrooms just for the two of us.

We also enjoyed the culture in Colombia, witnessing some shows and events.

Role playing.. oh, those fruits on that pan were heavy on my head.

Although, the beach was lovely, the water was murky maybe because the sand was dark brown to black.

We enjoyed swimming though in the better part of the beach where the sand was very smooth and therapeutic to our skin.

Will I go back? Maybe, when I finish the other countries I’d like to visit.

Colombia is just my 79th country.
